Problems Seeing the Real Video

Be sure that you have downloaded the latest version of RealPlayer.

After you go to the RealPlayer site, please choose the link that says "Free Download" (under "RealPlayer FREE"). On the next page, click on the link that says "Get RealPlayer - Free".

You do not need to purchase any software to see this presentation.

Once you have downloaded Real Player, you still need to install it.  You will need to pay attention to where you downloaded the file to on your computer.  For convenience, you can select the Desktop as the location to save it.  That will create an icon on your desktop that you can double click on to install RealPlayer.

Please make sure to close other programs that are running before you install RealPlayer.

The first time RealPlayer runs, you will be asked to register it.  If you do not wish to do this, then you should be able to cancel this process. Please note that you may be asked to register RealPlayer each time you run the program in the future, but again, you may cancel this process each time it asks you to register.

If you are having problems viewing the video, there may be a firewall at the location you are using to connect to the Internet.  This is most common in corporate offices where security is in place.  If you can determine that there is a firewall issue, you will need to contact your local technical support people to ask that the firewall be relaxed to allow you to view the video.  Most likely, you will need to view the video from an alternate location, since most technical groups feel security is compromised with relaxed firewalls.

If you have tried all of the above and are still having problems, contact John Pryba at pryba.1@osu.edu or (614)247-6349.
